What is Jerk Balance? Jerk balance is an exercise used in weightlifting to help improve balance and stability during the jerk portion of the clean and jerk movement. It involves splitting the legs into a lunge position while performing a jerk motion with a barbell or dumbbells.

Jerk Balance Tutorial

  1. Start by standing with your feet hip-width apart and the barbell resting on your shoulders.
  2. Step forward with one foot into a lunge position while simultaneously pushing the barbell overhead.
  3. Ensure your back knee comes close to the ground while keeping your front knee at a 90-degree angle.
  4. Return to the starting position by bringing your front foot back to meet the back foot.
  5. Repeat the movement on the opposite side.

Common Mistakes
